NUTRIPLUS® Harvest – Field harvest forecast for silage

High quality silo by in-field diagnostic

NUTRIPLUS® Harvest service is the association of infrared technology and MAS Seeds® agronomic knowledges to optimize harvest and silo quality.

Two out of three farmers do not harvest at the
right stage.

Define harvest date to optimize silo quality

Harvesting the silage maize at the right stage is the key objective for dairy farmers. It’s the guarantee to harvest the best feed value and to have a good conservation in the silo.  Two out of three farmers do not harvest at the right stage which represents 50 to 250€/ha losses.

The service provides a field diagnostic and a forecast of the optimum harvest period (32-35% dry matter) to help you optimize harvesting and silo quality. This service is ideal for dairy farmers who want to improve forage autonomy and increase their nutrition efficiency.

Benefits from infrared technology

The evaluation of the field %DM is possible thanks to XNIR or AGRINIR sensors. They measure the dry matter (DM) percentage of silage maize directly on the field:

  •  Measure: Direct plant measure
  •  Precision: Infra-red technology
  •  MAS Seeds® expertise: Specific calibration on green maize plants

How does it work ?

You will receive in field diagnostics and advices

  • MAS Seeds® expert measures the dry matter (DM) content of your silage maize plant and estimates the DM% of your field
  • The measurement is done using a high-precision infrared sensor on the spot.
  • Based on the MAS Seeds® calibration and DM% measured, an optimal harvest window is calculated and provided
  • You can then start organising your harvest operations.
  • Recommended best harvest period ensures the ideal DM% content of your silage at the harvest, thus ensuring your silage quality and conservation.
